This vision is accomplished daily through Godly nurturing of our pupils’ minds with deliberate care and love.
We offer a curriculum that is stimulating, challenging and encourages all children without exception, to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
We incorporate different Philosophies of Education, since Education philosophers made different discoveries on the way children learn, examples of such philosophers are Montessori, Rousseau, Pestalozzi etc. they discovered different ways of teaching and training children, particularly in their formative years, methods like child centred approach, hands-on learning, collaborative approach etc.
Our curriculum & Programs are:
- Developmentally - Appropriate Practice [DAP]
- Culturally - Approriate Practice [CAP]
- Individually - Approriate Practice [IAP]
- Age - Appropriate Practice [APP]
We provide: a safe, stimulating, friendly and an enabling environment that is equipped with age appropriate learning aids which afford them opportunity for adventure and exploration.
We encourage the use of open-ended play, child-centered approah, hands-on, collaborative play etc and using mind-building instructional materials that enhance discovery, exploration and creative imagination in a rapidly changing global environment.
We incorporate differential learning since children have their different modalities of learning and interest, also they have
different antecedents.

Our Story
Early Beginnings: Soteria Preschool (2010)
AlphaSoteria School is a product of prophecy. The words of Mrs. Fola B. Abegunde, the School’s Director, capture this:
“The prophecy was first given sometime in 2005, by a guest minister, visiting our church [Foursquare Gospel Church, Magodo] from his base in Kaduna. His specific words and GOD’s mandate through him was that God would have me build the foundation of some children for Him, with an emphasis on ‘school’. As an adult, fast approaching my 5th decade on earth, coupled with my youngest child being about to complete her undergraduate studies, my human reasoning could not make sense of this ‘word of knowledge’. God however sent two (2) other ministers with the same message, confirming His will. So, in surrender to His will, I returned to school in 2006, embarking on an entirely new career path, to undertake the advanced degree courses required to become an ‘early childhood education and care professional’. This ensured that apart from my natural gifts and passion for raising children, I was also well equipped with the relevant philosophies of education and the psychology of learning/children’s growth and development, and versed in relevant research regarding how children learn.”
With the help of God and the unreserved support of my husband, Pastor Dele Abegunde, and family, on Monday, the 13th day of September 2010, Soteria School became a reality. On that same day, the first toddler was registered, with another baby registered the next day, and by the end of the 2nd week, we had 8 toddlers, under the care of four pioneer staff members to God’s glory.”
Thus began the journey of AlphaSoteria School, a humble yet visionary establishment dedicated to nurturing young minds to full potential. Founded on its drive to provide first-class quality early childhood education, Soteria Preschool quickly gained recognition for its commitment to excellence.
Expansion and Growth (2014)
As the preschool flourished, the demands for the continuation of the children’s education beyond the preschool phase increased. In response and on the foundation of prayers and considerable planning, Soteria expanded its offerings to include primary school education; commencing Primary Class One in 2014, marking a pivotal moment in the school's evolution into a comprehensive elementary education institution.
Transformation and Rebranding
To reflect its growth, expanded vision and curriculum, Soteria Preschool metamorphosed into AlphaSoteria School, with the name change approved and licensed by the Lagos State Ministry of Education in October 2017. The name change symbolized the school's commitment to providing a holistic education, empowering students to achieve academic excellence and moral character.
Milestones and Achievements
• Establishment of Soteria Preschool - 13 September 2010
• Commencement of Primary School Section – September 2014
• First Set of Primary School Graduands – July 2018*
